Our village Belesta is typical of the area with 2 restaurants and bars, 2 greengroceries, 1 baker, PO, bank, late night small supermarket, newsagents, wine shop and 2 hairdressers and yet it is a small village. How do the French do it. Within 6 miles are 2 hypermarkets, many restaurants which offer extraordinary value. This is the real South of France.. |

| Things to do for all the family. We have a large family varying from teenager upwards, so the variety of activities has proved a great success. For the active local forest walks and bike rides abound. Many museums, waterways and underground caves are worth exploring and the old towns of Foix, Toulouse and Mirepoix are a must. | How to get there. There are many flying options from all over the UK and most of these are with the cheap "No frills" airlines. You can fly to Carcassonne or Toulouse both of which are around one hour by car to the house. An extra 20 minutes away is Perpignan Airport with a wonderful route along the Pyrenees. The car drive through Limoges is also an excellent route down from the ferries. |
